Our Applied AI Approach

At Gedankenfabrik, we've been exploring and collaborating with AI for the last decade.

Our agile team structure combines a creative mindset with strategic foresight and implementation, and technical skills with a playful, hands-on business approach.

Trying out as much as possible ourselves has always helped us: it lets us quickly understand new developments, put them to use, and reflect on them critically.

Applied AI for companies

For an Applied AI approach, we distinguish between everyday use, domain-specific expert use cases, and breakthrough cases made possible only by recent technological advancements. On the everyday level, ongoing learning and upskilling are just as important as bringing everyone on board transparently.

The available tools and potential AI ecosystems differ in scope and data protection, but their core features are available across all of them. There is no "one-size-fits-all" solution for domain use cases; what has proven very successful is a methodology that decodes how a company is organized and what its workflows and individual tasks actually look like.

We can help your company with both the vision for an Applied AI strategy and its practical implementation and integration within the organization. This includes the overall company perspective, the team collaboration, and the individual empowerment.

How we build and work with AI

Over the years, we've tested hundreds of tools. While some have vanished or become obsolete, others have become part of our daily work. We've tried out AI hardware, from our physical Nvidia setup for local models to gadgets that did (or often did not) live up to their hype.

Alongside our day-to-day strategic Applied AI projects, we've built our very own secure, EU-hosted AI solution and multiple product prototypes – like our Virtual Customer, which shows how quickly you can turn an idea into a working tool – and we make use of our own agentic framework for automations.

We've built automations with no- and low-code tools like n8n and Make; developed and run workshops on tools and prompting; created global team formats on the broader theme of AI and how its use and tools vary locally; and provided 1:1 sparring for various levels of management.

We regularly attend conferences, as either speakers or participants, to take an active role in the ongoing discourse.
